Typically, I do not use white as a background or negative space when shooting my coin photos. PLease see the photo above. I most often use a very cool blue. I think there is a learning experience for all of us so I am sharing. Please let me know if you think the white space works. If you do not like the white space, what would you have chosen? I think for this coin, which is silver, the white space doesn't work as well as a lightly colored background would. However, for darker coins i think the whitespace would be better.
